Per this legislation, the county attorney is authorized to take evidence, administer oaths, issue subpoenas, and cause depositions to be taken to enforce the prohibition on employing unauthorized aliens. The bill sets forth provisions governing the issuance of a subpoena for this purpose. Proceedings held during the course of a confidential investigation are exempt from public meeting requirements.
