PHOENIX - The Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry has hired Jeanine Jerkovic as its new director of membership and marketing. The organization is also pleased to announce the promotion of Lorna Romero to director of public affairs and the promotion of Katie Whitchurch to director of events and operations.
Jeanine Jerkovic will be responsible for managing new member recruitment, existing member retention and increasing membership opportunities and awareness. Jeanine has more than 10 years of experience in the economic development industry with a background in program development and media relations. She previously served as the economic development manager for the City of Surprise and as vice president of international programs for the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC).
As director of public affairs, Lorna Romero will assist the organization with its extensive lobbying process and administer the Political Action Committee. Lorna has worked with the Chamber for over two years and has proven her leadership capabilities throughout several high-intensity legislative cycles with the organization. Lorna has also been instrumental in coordinating the Chamber's newly developed candidate endorsement process.
As director of events and operations, Katie Whitchurch will be managing key events for the Chamber and the Arizona Manufacturers Council. Katie has been working for the Chamber for over a year and a half and has successfully orchestrated several signature events for the organization. Currently, she is working on the Arizona Manufacturers Council policy summit on environmental and sustainability issues (www.azchamber.com/events), set to take place August 11-13 in Prescott.
