New Chairman and Officers Installed at Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry

& Company’s Doug Yonko to chair Chamber board for 2012-13
PHOENIX — Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry President and CEO Glenn Hamer released the following statement in anticipation of the July 1 start of the Chamber’s next fiscal year and the installation of a new chairman and a slate of new officers:
“We are very fortunate to have such an outstanding group of individuals leading the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Under the chairmanship of Mark Dobbins, the Chamber helped advance new laws at the Legislature that have tremendously enhanced Arizona’s competitive standing. Mark was integral to forging new public policy partnerships with organizations such as the Greater Phoenix Black Chamber of Commerce and the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He also led the efforts of Southwest Direct, an exciting new initiative intended to develop Arizona as a leader in transportation and logistics. His vision has helped firmly position the Chamber for future success.
“I am confident that under our new chairman, Doug Yonko, we will further advance public policies to create a more competitive business climate in Arizona and promote economic growth and diversification. Doug is establishing four new committees within the Chamber, such as the Tourism and Trade Committee, and the Hispanic Business and Emerging Markets Committee that reflect our current economic environment and the pressing issues of the day.
“I congratulate Doug on this well deserved new post and am looking forward to what I am sure will be a great year for business in Arizona.”
